1. How do I make a copy of my data to another business at the year end?

There is now a built in routine to do this. Go to File -> Copy Data. You will be asked for the name for this duplicate business, Fill it in and click Start. The business is now added to the end of your available businesses.

2. What are the "Payments Next Year" and "Receipts Next Year" sections for in transactions?

These sections allow you to enter the first two months transactions of the next financial year before closing the last month of the current year.

They become available as part of the normal three open months as numbers 13 and 14 at the end of the year. You should use them as normal month 1 and 2 of the new year entering Opening Creditors and Debtors to code 102.

When you close month 12 (this invokes the year end routine), month 13 and 14 become month 1 and 2 of the new year.

3. Why don't my transactions appear on the list in the Bank Reconciliation?

Only transactions in the first open month will appear for reconciliation. If you are trying to reconcile a month before closing the previous month, the list will only show the unpresented cheques and undeposited receipts from the previous month. Deselect the entries you have highlighted on the list, save and exit. Close the month and you should now be able to see all your entries in the reconciliation list.

5. I want to make some changes to my budget but don't want to lose my existing figures?

You can copy the figures in your existing budget to a new budget set and then make the changes you want. Go to File -> Copy Budgets, select the budget set you wish to copy and enter the code and name for the new budget set. Select the sections of the budget set you wish to copy and click run.

You can now make any changes you require in this new budget set.

6. Why don't I get "Last Year" figures in my profit and loss?

Because each budget set now is entirely independent with its own valuations, creditors and debtors and Last Year Balances you have to be sure that the correct figures are in the Last Year section of the budget set you are using. Go to Closing -> Last Year, and select the budget set you are working with. You can then enter the last year balances you require or edit the existing balances you want.
