1. How do I bring an animal back which I have sold or culled by mistake ?

You should go to the animal's record in the Dead Section of the appropriate Records and select the required animal. Select the Sales option. On the Background of the screen click the right mouse button. Move the tick to Live and exit. The Animal is now back in the live section. You should go into the live record and remove the Movement created by the sale and change the status back from Culled.

Go to the appropriate Record Section. Select Find and then Metal Tag from the list. Type in all or part of the number and the system will find the nearest match.

3. Why doesn't a cow appear on the list for calving ?

Has the cow been served? Just like the real thing a cow has to served before she can be calved. Go to the Cow Records and select the cow you require. Her status should be either Served or Positive PD. Change the Status to Served and the cow will now appear on the calving list.

If you have forgotten to serve a batch of cows you should go through the Service routine in Cow Occurrences.

5. How do I Start to send my Passport Applications and Movements to BCMS by E.mail?

Firstly you must have e.mail facilities with two e.mail addresses. (If you are reading this on the net then we can assume you are already connected.) You can then ask the BCMS for application forms. There is one form for Passport Applications and another for Movements. They send you the forms, fill them in and send them back.

You will then be asked to pass a conformance test for each. This ensures that the information you are going to send them is in the correct format. Once you have passed the tests you will be given an Originator ID for both Passport Applications and Movements. You can then start to use e.mail instead of sending the forms through the post.

Farmdata can help you through the application process and can supply access to E.mail. The test files are built into Cattledata. Please call for assistance.

6. Why is the counter of the number of BSPS Claims too high when I try to register a claim?

At the end of each calendar year you have to zero the counter. The system doesn't do this itself as we cannot assume you have entered all you application by 31st December.

Go to Maintenance -> Premium Parameter and reset the Claimed boxes back to 0.
