Cattledata Update
Software Release Notice 11

November 2005

The following amendments and enhancements have been made to CATTLEdata.

The principle change in this update is to the Calf Purchase routine.

Animal Occurrences

The default calf purchase routine has changed. This is to speed the scanning of passports with a barcode scanner.

In the Screen set the Date, Where they came from and the Moved to location. For the first batch of cattle set the Weight, Price and, if required, the Invoice number.

Click in the first Ear Number box and read the passport as usual. The numbers will be entered and move to the next line for the next passport. When all the passports have been read click save and move to the next batch with the relevant changes to the fields at the top of the screen.

Maximising the screen will allow you to see the complete line of an entry. Genetic Dam and Comment can be entered manually if required before saving.

The previous calf purchase routine can be retained by going to Maintenance -> Business parameters -> Miscellaneous and putting a tick in the Individual Calf Purchase box.
