Cattledata Update
Software Release Notice 8a

August 2001

Introduction

The following amendments and enhancements have been made to CATTLEdata. Please read this document carefully there are some important changes.

Mail - Several Changes have been made to this section.

i You can now create a text file containing the animals that you intend to claim for Suckler Cow Premium for submitting electronically to the Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department (SEERAD). Please refer to the online help for further information.

ii You can now create a text file to import registration into the CTS online web site. Register calves through the usual Calf Occurrence, Premium routine. Then go to Mail -> Register by CTS Online. This follows the same routine as the Mail Registrations but creates a file beginning PASS000?.csv  in the Farmdata\Cattle32\Mail folder

You can then use the 'Register Birth by Import File' import this file into the CTS online 

ii The text files created in Mail Registrations and Mail Movements no longer overwrite the previous files created. Each is individually numbered, the new names of these files are:

          iii When you save the animals in Mail Registrations and Mail Movements you can now obtain a printout of the contents of the text file.

        Other small issues which have come to light have been sorted.

Installation

Ensure you have an up to date backup of the application being updated.

If the update has been issued on CD-ROM:

Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive. On systems with autoplay enabled, the installation menu will be displayed. If this is not the case choose Start and then Run and enter:

[d]:\setup where [d] is the drive letter of the CD-ROM.

If the update has been issued on floppy disk, choose Start and then Run and enter:

a:\setup

Before any files are copied you may be asked for an Activation Key. This is the number which appears on the Certificate of Licence and Authenticity which was issued with the last CD-ROM.

Process Complete.
