The following amendments and enhancements have been made to IACSdata/CROPdata
mainly to cater for Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (NVZS).
1. Maintenance Routines
i For each Crop Code you can now specify the Residue Group and the Recommended levels of Nitrogen.
ii In Holdings & Rainfall you can now record the height of the holding above sea level and also the rainfall for each harvest year.
iii In NVZ Code Lists you can enter and amend the Nitrogen Adjustments that can be applied to a crop and also the various types of Grassland
Management Options.
2. Field Records
i The Soil Type has been changed to a dropdown list containing the list of Soil Types as described in the NVZ booklet.
ii You can now specify the areas of Buffers, Slopes and Other uncropped parts of a field.
iii The option to enter and amend Organic Manure applications has been added.
3. Field Events
i For each crop allocated you can now specify the following:-
a. Grassland Management
b. Nitrogen Adjustments e.g Undersown, Breadmaking etc.
c. Delayed Sowing - the number of days that sowing was delayed by.
4. Field Operations
i The option to enter Organic Manure applications has been added.
5. Reports
i The new section of NVZ Reports has been added which will allow you to produce the statutory reports required by NVZ rules.
When starting NVZ reporting some of the existing records have to amended.
In the Maintenance Section
1 NVZ Codes List, Livestock Nitrogen and Recommended Nitrogen are set to the tables published by the Scottish Executive. These may need altered to suit your requirements. We suggest you check through these at some point to ensure they meet your requirements.
It may also be sensible to omit the codes from occurrences which you are never going to use. This will shorten your options when entering data later.
2 Excreted Nitrogen and Slurry. Set up your Livestock Numbers. These are used in Reports. These will have to adjusted from year to year.
3 Enter the rainfall figures for your Holdings.
In the Field Records
1 Ensure that the fields are allocated to the correct holdings.
2 Soil Analysis. Ensure the Soil Type is set correctly.
3 Crops. For each crop in the year you want to create NVZ reports for - You will need to add details for Management Option (grassland and set-aside), Delay and Adjustments.
4 Manure. The unspreadable areas for Buffers, Slopes and Other reasons need to be entered.
5 Entries for Manure applications for current and previous crops will have to be entered were NVZ reports are required. This may be better done through the Manure Operations in Field Operations Routines but they can be checked here.
NVZ Reporting
If the above adjustment and entries are made then the NVZ reports should produce sensible figures.
An up to date manual is available on the CD. On the installation Menu select View Documents.
You may also use this disk to update any other Farmdata programs you have.
