Windows Software Release Notice 3
April 2004
Introduction
Some problems have been identified in the Windows version of the Paydata system. The update can be installed immediately and this is our recommendation.
Content
The year end routine has brought to light some problems with the figures printed on the P14/P60 reports. Some Final tax codes may be misrepresented, particularly Wk1/Mth1 and Codes with Prefixes.
Employee start and end dates may be excluded if they occurred in the tax year.
Employees starting during the year with a P45 may have incorrect Pay Total for Year.
We advise that you check these on your year end prints.
The problems have been rectified and the fix is available on the enclosed CD.
Backup
It is essential users do regular, multiple, backups of their Pay data. There are stages in the Payroll run which do not currently "fail safe". An interruption in processing during any of these brief stages, be it a power cut or program/system failure, requires the restoration of a good backup. If no backups exist the payroll will have to be re-entered from scratch. Floppy disks are less than 20p each, your time is worth a lot more.
Installation
Insert CD and choose the Paydata Program from the menu.
